The Power of Nursing Leadership Event is a premier gathering of the most innovative nurse leaders from all over the state. More than 600 nursing and healthcare professionals attend the PNLE.

Over the past twelve years, the PNLE has been a place for nursing leaders to network, exchange ideas, and celebrate the accomplishments of our colleagues. The vision for this event is to showcase the impact of nursing leaders in shaping health care best able to meet the needs of people in Illinois. We invite you explore the PNLE history to see what we’ve done and who we’ve honored throughout the years.

This year brought new excitement to the event as our highest honor became the Joan L. Shaver Illinois Outstanding Leadership Award! Throughout her thirteen years as Dean at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing, Dr. Joan Shaver was the example of outstanding leadership. It was her vision to bring together healthcare leaders from all over the state to celebrate nursing and showcase the impact of leadership. Congratulations to our 2009Joan L. Shaver Illinois Outstanding Leadership Award recipient, Dr. Beverly McElmurry as well as the 2009 Pinnacle Leader Awardees.
