The Joan L. Shaver Illinois Outstanding Nurse Leader Award
The purpose of the Joan L. Shaver Illinois Nurse Leader Award is to recognize an outstanding nurse leader who is highly influential in shaping quality health care in the State of Illinois. The award honors the hard work, commitment and dedication necessary to serve the health care needs of the people of Illinois through supremely skilled leadership and the courage to break through barriers. The award symbolizes the celebration of individual achievement and represents excellence in nursing leadership of our state.

Pinnacle Nurse Leader Spotlight

Congratulations to all 2009 Pinnacle Nurse Leaders!

We invite institutions, groups or individuals to spotlight extraordinary nurse leaders for acknowledgement and celebration at the 12th Annual PNLE.

For the table Pinnacle Nurse Leader spotlighting organizations:

1. Purchase table(s) for the luncheon at $1,500, one per Pinnacle Nurse Leader. Each table will seat one leader and nine supporters.

2. Invite nine table colleagues/supporters to attend the PNLE to cheer for your chosen Pinnacle Nurse Leader as her/his words of wisdom are profiled for the PNLE audience of nursing and health care leaders.

3. Provide your organization, group or personal name/logo to be highlighted next to a photo of your spotlighted leader(s) on the big screen.

4. Support and cheer for your chosen pinnacle leader.

Please feel free to honor as many Pinnacle Nurse Leaders as you wish. Please note there is only one Pinnacle Nurse Leader per table purchase. As always, individual tickets will be available for $150 and regular tables ($1500 for 10) can be purchased without a pinnacle leader attendee.

For the spotlighted Pinnacle Nurse Leaders:

1. Provide a biographical sketch (Name, Title, Organization, the number years as a nurse), photograph (in JPG format) and a 2-line ‘sound bite’ statement on what make you or has contributed to you being an extraordinary leader; or what you think makes for excellent leadership or advice you might have for emerging leaders. These words of wisdom will be flashed on the screen with your portrait when you are ‘in the spotlight . Please provide this information to lesinski@uic.edu

2. Receive a leadership recognition memento.

3. Bask in the glory of acknowledgement by your peers from across the state.
